A Creative Origin II
Fast-Forward To Getting Started As A Programmer
So it's 2015 and I’ve just earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. what next? The Big Question.
I’m exposed to the job market and have no clue on how to go about my skills, applied for tech jobs but everybody wants someone with 5 years and above experience, pfft! crazy stuff right, I know.
I gave up after so many trials and rejection, finally got a camera, because I could take really good pictures at the time.
I Ventured into the entertainment industry, shot a couple of celebrities, I always got an all-access pass to top parties and events in Lagos, made a few bucks, but it just wasn’t it.
So in November 2018, after my birthday I decided to go back into coding, started refreshing on all my coding skills, took a couple of refresher courses, sent out CVs.
It’s February 2019 finally secured my current job. Started working with NodeJS on a Social Gaming Platform, then scrapped the whole application and decided to switch to Laravel From Start. One of My Toughest Projects To date, building a gaming website using Laravel, I mean every gaming platform out there was either using NodeJS or Asp.net, We all just took a vote on a framework and Voila Laravel won the vote. It was an interesting challenge that really shaped my coding style and how I attack problems, which you will get to read about later.
The Gaming Platform Dice.NG Launched in march 2021 after 2 years of back and forth and series of testing, and it's one of my proudest creations. Major shoutout to the Tech Bro Who Built the platform alongside myself, Lekan, Micheal, Wale, Lolu, Yemi, Bolaji, and Peter.
Special Shoutout to my bosses for making the work seamless.
So far there have been series of new features on the Dice platform and I’m currently trying to attain a Game Development Certificate from Havard CS50 Program, also chasing a Unity programmer certificate, it's draining but I mean a man has to grow right.
The end goal is to be creative in everything I do and this is my origin.
I hope you guys follow me on this journey and don’t forget to hit a clap for me.
All my socials remain @officialyenum 🤞.
